Chemists get creative

L4 have been starting the new topic of the Earth and its atmosphere this term in Chemistry.

During the first lesson, they learnt about the basic structure of the Earth and girls made models from things they could find at home.

Versions included oranges representing the earth’s crust and mantle – stuffed with smaller fruit to show the core – coloured fondant icing layers and beautifully-labelled playdough.
