Art Scholar creates window exhibition
A Headington Art Scholar has created colourful portraits of her friends to spot as they walk around the neighbourhood.
Charlotte, U3, drew Studio Ghibli-inspired cartoon portraits of friends and neighbours and put them up in her window for people to spot themselves during their daily exercise.
Charlotte said: “At the beginning of lockdown, I felt a bit scared to leave the house. I found out that other children in my neighbourhood felt the same.
“So I offered to do these super bright anime portraits of them, so that they had an exciting reason to leave the house.”
The 11 year old, who is a big fan of Studio Ghibli head Hayao Miyazaki and artist and Oxford resident Jenny Saville, said she had received a number of additional ‘commissions’ to complete.
She said: “People have been so positive about the portraits and I now have a list of around 10 more to do. I’m lucky to be able to do something positive now when some things feel beyond my control.”
