Roman Day
Year 3 travelled into the past to spend a day learning about the Romans.
The girls spent the day dressed as Romans, marching like soldiers and forming the defensive tortoise formation and the attacking wedge formation. They learned about the food that Romans would have eaten or brought in to the UK and discovered the varied uses of Roman artefacts. They also had a creative session, weaving wool and forming a large group mosaic of a soldier. It brought their topic to life and engaged the children’s imaginations.
