Dance and Drama Day 2021
On Wednesday 21st April 2021, girls in L4 were treated to a Dance and Drama Day.
During the Dance Day, the girls took part in two different dance workshop classes, Street Dance and Contemporary, where they learnt technical dance phrases and performed choreography. In the afternoon, they worked in groups to create their own dance choreography, combining the dance styles and the new dance phrases they had learnt during the day.
Miss Faith Jackson, Director of Dance at Headington School said: “The girls worked incredibly well throughout the day, challenging and developing their dance skills. They all created outstanding choreographic ideas and should be very proud of their hard work throughout the day.”
For the Drama Day, four groups created their own version of Roald Dahl’s ‘Revolting Rhymes’. It was an opportunity to get to grips with practical work with peers from across the L4 year group in the theatre space with the complete use of lighting, sound, props and costume.
Mr Phil Macken, Head of Drama said: “It was a fantastic day and wonderful to see what the girls produced. We’re so looking forward to providing similar days for the U4 and U3 in the near future.”
