Year 3 science discoveries
An exploration of light and shade has been keeping Year 3 girls busy.
Year 3 have been studying light, how it travels and what it can and cannot travel through. They created light mazes to learn how light moves through certain objects and is reflected off others, refracted through some materials and cast shadows from others. They ran an investigation to test what they could change when shadows were created. In learning about translucent, transparent and opaque objects they also came up with some great suggestions for Mrs Crouch’s ‘make do’ (create your own) sunglasses.
Teacher Mr Joshua Batty said: “It has been a really fun topic for the girls to learn through experiments about light and shade. It’s provided them a great introduction to the practical side of science lessons as well as the importance of planning and documentation.”
