Christingle at Prep School 2021
It was a delight to be able to return to the Headington Prep tradition of hosting the Key Stage 1 Christingle Service at All Saints Church in Headington on Tuesday 7th December.
Both year groups had learnt the words to a Christmas poem and they were performed with actions (and gusto!) as part of the service. There was some fantastic singing with wonderful expression of various Christmas songs and carols, led by Mrs Amy Evetts and Miss Bella Brown, which was enjoyed by all the parents, their voices filling the church beautifully! The Rev Tom Howell dressed up as a giant orange Christingle, complete with a light on his head to demonstrate the Christian message of Jesus as the Light of the world.
Head of Key Stage 1 Mrs Joanna Haynes said: “It was very special to all be able to get together and remember the story of Christingle, brilliantly re-told with the most fantastic costume by Rev Howell, to much laughter from the girls and audience. It was a lovely afternoon and a wonderful start to the festive season.”
