Higher Education Evening 2022
Girls set their sights on the future at a special event focusing on Higher Education.
After a completely virtual event last year, it was a pleasure to be able to welcome students and parents to school for our annual Higher Education Evening and to be able to fully showcase the superb facilities that the Hive has to offer.
In all, Headington hosted 17 Higher Education Institutions (both in person and remotely) who offered their expertise on a huge range of subjects.
Students gained valuable insights on general areas of the Higher Education process such as: personal statements, choosing courses, applying to competitive degrees and how to write the perfect essay.
They also benefited from the talks on specific fields such as Medicine, Veterinary Sciences, Languages and Culture, the Creative Arts and the Oxbridge process to name but a few.
Academic Director of Sixth Form Mrs Alice Barrett said: “As the L6 begin their next steps preparation in earnest this half term, this event will have provided much food for thought and I know the U5 enjoyed seeing the depth and breadth of our Sixth Form provision for Higher Education preparation.
“A huge thank you to the Higher Education providers for making this possible but also to our own wonderful staff who spoke about our specialist provision: Mr Stephenson, Miss Jackson, Mrs Jamison, Mrs Dalgleish, Mr Macken. Additional thanks to Mr Ramsurn for his support in organising the event and our excellent L6 student ambassadors.”
