U6 Leavers 2022
There were tears and cheers and an impressive display of creativity as girls in U6 came together for the last time before going on study leave.
At the end of a week of themed costumes, flash mobs and other activities, girls arrived at school in customised uniforms on Friday 13th May for a day focusing on their time at Headington.
Many arrived early in school for some traditional mischief involving lots of balloons and scooters, before joining Sixth Form staff for a farewell breakfast. They then took over the Theatre and took part in a lively quiz and watched a short video, filmed and edited by one of the sixth formers, of their last week at school.
A special barbecue lunch was followed by an emotional service featuring music from staff and sixth formers along with moving readings and reflections from tutors and senior staff. A touching photo montage of the many things the girls have been involved in since joining Headington – some back in the nursery and Prep School – was a particular highlight.
Exams are due to start for A Level students on 23rd May and girls will also return in July for their U6 Prize Giving ceremony and final Foundation Day.
It was celebration time too for U5 girls, for whom GCSEs start Monday 16th May. There was an opportunity to sign shirts and wish each other good luck before turning their minds to revision.
Good luck to all those sitting exams!
