Pupils raise over £6,000 for charity
L4 pupils raised £6,588.85 for Oxford Mutual Aid in their Social Enterprise Charity Challenge.
Over the last 6 weeks, girls took part in a remarkable social enterprise charity challenge, displaying their entrepreneurial spirit and compassion for the community. The initiative aimed to raise funds for Oxford Mutual Aid, an organisation dedicated to providing essential support to 200 households in need.
Oxford Mutual Aid tirelessly works to supply regular provisions such as food, toiletries, and baby supplies to those who require assistance. Additionally, they distribute approximately 100 emergency food parcels on a weekly basis. Their services extend to individuals and families facing various challenges, including those on low incomes, individuals with disabilities, and those experiencing homelessness.
The L4 pupils, equipped with starting capital of £8, embraced the opportunity to unleash their creativity and maximise their fundraising efforts. They devised a wide range of innovative enterprise ideas to generate as much money as possible for Oxford Mutual Aid.
Among the diverse array of initiatives were ventures such as earring making, with products sold through personalised websites. Furthermore, they organised captivating village talent shows, offered professional car washing services and even embarked on baking and delivering delicious treats. Some went the extra mile by creating supper clubs and engaging in bead making activities. The sheer variety and inspiration behind these fundraising endeavours were truly impressive.
Through their unwavering dedication and tireless work, they managed to raise an outstanding sum of £6,588.85 for Oxford Mutual Aid. This remarkable achievement will undoubtedly make a substantial difference in the lives of numerous local families in need.
Expressing her admiration for the pupils’ accomplishments, Ellie, Charities Prefect, commended the L4 cohort for their exceptional performance in the enterprise challenge. She emphasised the positive impact their efforts would have on the local community, highlighting their vital contribution to improving the lives of individuals and families in need.
