Mud, Mess and Mixtures

To kick start their topic, Year 2 spent a fun-filled morning exploring what happens when you mix different materials together. They combined cornflour and water, pasta and paint, vinegar and bicarbonate of soda and explored colour mixing to create a new colour! Pupils used their observational skills to predict and then see what happened next which provided great building blocks for scientific learning to come.  They really enjoyed watching the results and getting suitably mucky and the morning served as a great opening to the start of their topic for this half term with lots of collaboration and vocabulary building.
