U12 County Hockey Champions 2024
Headington’s U12 Hockey teams thoroughly impressed during their County Hockey Tournament on Friday 2nd February.

“The U12 tournament was hosted by Headington and the U3 (Year 7) A & B teams arrived pumped and ready to go from their home changing rooms, with ‘Waka Waka’ blasting through the speakers. The teams both started as they meant to go on, with stunning victories to kick the day off.
“The A team were simply unbeatable all day. Their performances were electric, with U12 Head Coach Miss Cockshott saying, “They could be the best U3 team I have ever seen”.
They won all their matches, scoring 29 goals and conceding only one! One match was won 9-0, even with players playing out of position and two players less than a full squad.
Deservedly and emphatically they were named Oxfordshire Under 12 County Champions. Special mention to Audrey who was incredible throughout, and scored a few of the most outrageous goals the Headington astroturf has ever been blessed with.
A special mention must go to Lola and Daisy in the B team, who were outstanding all day for their team. The B team missed out on the semi-finals by an agonisingly close margin, but then won their crossover match versus Tudor Hall A team comfortably. A strong finish indeed!
