GSA Climate Change Competition
In an exciting showcase of creativity and environmental awareness, every pupil in L4 (Year 8) at the Senior School and Year 6 at the Prep School recently participated in the GSA (Girls Schools Association)/Adobe Science competition themed “Climate Change – Creative Competition”.
The challenge was for groups of four pupils to produce a compelling 90-second video news report on a significant aspect of climate change using Adobe editing tools.
Over two weeks, the L4 (Year 8) pupils diligently used their homework sessions to brainstorm ideas, gather footage, conduct research and craft their entries independently. The submissions were then reviewed by Sixth Form Science Ambassadors, who selected 10 standout entries for further consideration.
Remarkably, Rachel, Una, Evie, and Suzanna emerged victorious with their outstanding video, earning them first prize in their category with a prestigious trophy and ‘goodie bags’ from the GSA.
As part of their prize, the winners, along with all finalists, will enjoy a visit to Elstree Studios in the upcoming school year—an exciting opportunity to explore behind-the-scenes of media production.
GSA also recognized the School’s exceptional entry by submitting it to the Sky Edit National Competition, where it achieved runner-up status.
Congratulations to L4 and all participants for their impressive achievements and commitment to raising awareness about climate change through innovative storytelling and multimedia production.
