Prep Art Roundup

The start of the Autumn Term has brought about reflections on the changing colours of nature in the younger years with some lovely pictures painted by Year 3 pupils.

The Art Room windows are now home to a collection of life-size 3D fish, part of the Year 4 Pebbles, Shells and Oceans topic. These eye-catching creations were made using the wax-resist technique and they add a dynamic and colourful element to the Art Room, bringing the underwater world to life.

Delving into the intricate beauty of Islamic Architecture and patterns resulted in some beautiful oil pastel drawings by our Year 5 pupils, highlighting the children’s skill and patience, as they recreated the key features of the Islamic buildings they studied.

Meanwhile, Year 6 pupils have been busy creating digital Julian Opie-inspired self-portraits. Their bold, stylised interpretations of themselves bring a modern, graphic flair to their artwork, with simplified black outlines and bright flat colours characteristic of Opie’s style.
