Lunar New Year
Lunar New Year was ably explained and celebrated by pupils in our community who celebrated last week.
In the Monday assembly children were treated to beautiful singing from some of these pupils (including Mrs Hanna Yap’s Mandarin club) and an amazing Lion dance from Sophie and Mia in Year 4.
The audience (which included parents of those performing) was also wowed by the adult dance group as well.
Well done to Katie and Ruina, who led the audience confidently through the assembly and thank you to all the parents who organised and practised with the children involved.
Nursery and Reception were also visited by parents who told them all about the traditions around Lunar New Year and were lucky enough to be given red goodie bags with paper lanterns to make at home.
The wonderful catering team pulled out all the stops to provide an amazing lunch on Wednesday to celebrate the Lunar New Year, with many pupils and staff trying new foods for the first time!
