Headingtonian speaks about Amnesty Campaign
On Friday 22nd March, L6 girls heard about the moving plight of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, who has been imprisoned in Iran now for over 1,000 days, despite what campaigners say is lack of any evidence to suggest she is guilty of a crime.
Former Headingtonian, Alex Loftus, whose cousin is married to Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe, spoke at length about prison conditions, Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe’s deteriorating health issues and the negative impact that the situation is having on her four-year-old daughter. She encouraged girls to support the campaign to release Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe from prison.
Over 185,000 people have backed the Amnesty International Campaign to free Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe.
