Exploring Creative Writing
Nine keen writers from Year 6 took part in an Able Writers’ Workshop on Tuesday 5th November. Working closely with author Nick Cook (formerly a computer games developer and now author of the Cloud Riders trilogy), our Headington writers took part in imaginative exercises and explored the scientific processes behind the tornado. 
To get the group in the mood for writing, they engaged in increasingly frenetic tornado dances, with Shreya pressing the big red button on our very own tornado machine! They also explored videos and written account based on storm chasing. Each pupil envisaged their very own tornado scene based on the destruction of somewhere they knew well. Multi sensory writing was encouraged as writing ideas were shared too.
