Beyond the Prep School
Preparing exceptional pupils for scholarship
We are delighted to work with a significant number of pupils each year who show truly exceptional abilities or potential in a particular area. We work closely with our Year 6s and help them prepare for scholarship assessment if their teachers believe they may be suitable. Every year around 10 percent of pupils from the Prep School are offered Academic, Art, Dance, Drama, Music or Sports Scholarships at Headington Rye Oxford and other leading schools. Future schools for boys
We also prepare boys for entry to senior school. We hold a series of future schools events and support boys to find the right destination for them, whether that be preparation for scholarship entry to selective school, entry to those with more of a focus on sport or the arts or exploring co-educational options where appropriate. Our staff are very used to working with the boys in their charge to identify their passions and nurture their strengths to ensure they are ready for the next step in their education. They also work closely with a range of senior schools and have developed close relationships with staff there to ensure that, working in tandem with parents, pupils and future schools, they can find the right fit.
Recent leavers have been offered scholarships at schools including Abingdon School and D’Overbroeck’s, along with securing places in selective boys’ schools such as Magdalen College School.
