Fencers qualify for championships
Two fencers, Darcy (L5) and Charlotte (U3) impressed at the Southern Regional Qualifying Fencing Tournament on the 25th January 2020.
Charlotte fought some fierce and extremely close matches to finish seeded sixth in her age group.
Darcy was involved in the most exciting match of the day, the final, coming from behind and winning to finish seeded number one in her age group!
Therefore, both girls earned and deserved places at the British Youth Fencing Championships in Birmingham in May.
Charlotte’s mother said: “Both girls supported each other and upheld the principles of good sportwomanship – Headington should be proud!”
Well done girls, we’ll look forward to hearing about the Championships later this year.
