Legacies
A legacy gift creates a permanent testimony to your affection for the School, giving you the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the next generation of young women in a way that you may not be able to during your lifetime.
Our aspiration is for any girl with the ability to win a place at Headington Rye Oxford to be able to do so, regardless of parental income, and one of the ways we do this is through legacies.
Any supporter who intends to make a legacy gift to Headington Rye Oxford is invited to join the Peggy Dunn Legacy Society. The scheme is named after Peggy Dunn, a much-loved Headmistress (1959-1982) who left a substantial bequest in her will for bursaries and scholarships.
Becoming a member of the Society enables the School to recognise your generosity and thank you in person, and provides an opportunity to meet other members of the Headington Rye Oxford community and keep up to date with the School’s progress and future plans.
Our aspiration is for any girl with the ability to win a place at Headington Rye Oxford to be able to do so, regardless of parental income and one of the ways we do this is through legacies.
Making a charitable donation through a legacy gift can also reduce the total tax liability of your estate. All legacies to Headington Rye Oxford are free from Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax.
If you are comfortable doing so, please let us know if you intend to leave the School a legacy. Such a pledge does not bind you in any way, but it does give us the opportunity to share pertinent news and invite you to Peggy Dunn Legacy Society events, and most importantly, to thank you for your support. Your response and any subsequent correspondence or discussion will be treated in the strictest confidence.
If you’d like to leave a legacy, we recommend you make or change your will with the help of a solicitor or legal professional, who will be able to provide confidential and up-to-date advice tailored to your needs, and ensure that your wishes are clearly expressed. To help you start your gift, we’ve provided some suggested wording to use for the two main types of legacy gifts.
To notify Headington Rye Oxford of your intention to include the School in your will, please download and return our Legacy Pledge Form. If you have already made your will, and would like to add Headington Rye Oxford as a beneficiary, you can do so by completing this Codicil Form.
