French penpals visit
Headington’s partnership school from Paris, Ecole Des Loges came to visit us for an afternoon of fun on Tuesday 23rd May and spent two hours with their English pen pals in U4.
After corresponding via letters and padlets since September, it was the first time that the English and French pen pals in U4 met. The French and English U4 pupils did some bonding games in the beautiful Davenport gardens being involved in various activities like tug of war, hula hoops and eggs & spoons before being treated to an afternoon tea in the Dining Hall.
Head of French Mme Virginie Crépeau said: “All in all, we had a great time and both French and English pupils enjoyed spending time getting to know each other. We were very lucky with this glorious weather!”
Iris, U4, said: “I thoroughly enjoyed putting a name to a face and meeting my pen pal. It was thoroughly enjoyable being creative when trying to breach the language barrier, there were all sorts of gestures and actions involved in this. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and one I won’t forget!”
