Year 2 go boating

On Thursday 18th April, Year 2 enjoyed a wonderful, sunny cruise down the river as a memorable experience to start their new topic Land Ahoy!

Having travelled into Oxford on the public bus they then boarded the boat, ready to set off, at Folly Bridge. During the journey to Iffley Lock, the children looked out to see what types of boats they could spot and how the river was being used and enjoyed by various people.

After they had returned to Folly Bridge, they walked into the grounds of Christchurch College for a picnic lunch before returning back to the Prep school for the remainder of the afternoon. Oxford was looked glorious in the sunshine and everyone enjoyed the beautiful fens and meadows as they sailed past.
