6th Form Success in British Physics Olympiad
Despite their remote settings, our Upper Sixth physicists have been participating in the UK’s most prestigious pre-university competition, the British Physics Olympiad.
This event aims to encourage the study of Physics and recognise excellence in young physicists through annual Physics competitions. It is designed to stretch and challenge the top young physicists in the country through real-world, open-ended and unstructured problems requiring tenacity and rigour. This year there were more than 1300 entries from the very best students in over 200 schools, so it gives us great pleasure to announce the following successes for our own competitors:
Physics Challenge
Caitlin – Merit
Annie – Merit
Chloe – Merit
BPhO Round 1
Chloe – Gold
Zoe – Bronze I
Clemmie – Bronze II
Of particular note was Chloe’s performance in achieving a Gold which puts her in the top 12% of all entrants to the competition.
