Academic Presentation Evening
A huge range of fascinating subjects were presented by some of Headington’s sixth formers at one of the academic highlights of the year.
On Tuesday 15th November 37 U6 Students took part in Academic Presentation Evening, presenting the findings of the year-long research projects they have been conducting as part of their EPQ qualifications and Oxbridge applications.
It was a fantastic evening with a huge range of research projects being presented; from exploring attitudes and behaviours on mask wearing during the COVID-19 pandemic to examining the Sociology Of The French Revolution, the Impact of Portuguese Colonial Agriculture on Brazil and the restoration of the Benin Bronzes to Nigeria.
There was a brilliant atmosphere with parents, teachers and pupils from across the School excited to be learning about new topics from our U6 students, who were very much the experts in the room.
Mr Alex Thomson, Assistant Head Academic, said: “Huge congratulations to all the U6 students who gave presentations and thank you to all the staff involved in organising, setting up and running the evening. “
The School would also like to thank Nicola Scannell and Colleen Peach who very kindly ran a Presentation Skills workshop for the students involved on 11th November. The students found the workshop really helpful and it really boosted their confidence in presenting and engaging with an audience, which was really noticeable on the evening.
Good luck to all the EPQ students as they finalise their projects ready for submission on the 2nd December.
