Business students visit working quarry

The business department had the opportunity to visit one of the remaining primary sector businesses in the UK. The visit to Gill Mill Quarry on Tuesday 24th September included a talk from the quarry manager which focused on key operational concepts closely linked to the Business course the girls are currently studying.

This was followed by a tour of the quarry where the group stopped at points of interest including the main processing plant, the recycling plant and the main extraction area.

Head of Business Miss Holly Stafford said: “The girls enjoyed seeing a real business in action and didn’t realise how interesting a quarry could actually be.”
