Celebration of Guitar 2024
On Tuesday 30th January, Headington’s guitarists came together for the ‘Celebration of Guitar’, an exciting concert featuring 30 players from both the Senior and Prep schools.
The performers played a wide variety of music from Smetana to Billy Joel and there was a great atmosphere created by the range of guitar solos, duets and ensemble pieces.
Memorable moments included the Prep Ensemble with their performance of the ‘Mission: Impossible’ theme and the L4 group who played a lively and rhythmic version of ‘Under the Sea’ from ‘The Little Mermaid’.
The concert closed with the impressive sound of the Senior Ensemble playing Lennon and McCartney’s ‘When I’m Sixty-Four’ which featured 23 guitarists!
