Celebration of Piano
The latest in the Music Department’s programme of celebration concerts was a fantastic Celebration of Piano.
The concert year was part of a Piano Day, which took place on Tuesday 30th April.
It started with a Piano Masterclass given by an internationally-known pianist (read more here) and concluded with a fantastic event featuring some of the most advanced piano players in school.
In turn, talented girls entertained a large audience with wonderful renditions of masterpieces for solo piano and piano for four hands.
The Celebration of Piano also hosted three players coming from the Prep School, who, despite their young age, enchanted the listeners with three little musical gems by Debussy and Scarlatti.
Dr Rosella Rubini, Head of Piano, said: “We are so lucky to be able to offer such a unique piano event, in which the performances are at such a high level that they seem to be played by true professionals!
“We are all so proud of our piano students Headington School for their hard work, commitment and passion, which are visible in everything they do.”
