Christmas markets in Cologne
In what was for many, their first trip away with Headington, U3 girls made a whistle-stop tour of the Christmas markets in Cologne on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th December.
The long journey was worth it, as the girls were given a taster of how chocolate is made at the Lindt factory and then a chance to try out their German in the markets.
The highlight for some was seeing the cathedral lit up at night, for others it was being away with their form and for many it was the chance to taste genuine gingerbread. The girls asked for lunch in German too and this included Bratwurst, Kofibrot (similar to a pizza) and Rösti.
The trip went without a hitch and the girls were all back in lessons on Monday morning, albeit a little bleary-eyed!
