Concerto Competition 2024
Three gifted musicians have impressed judges with their outstanding performances to win a place in one of Headington’s most hotly-fought music contests.
Florence (L6), Alice (L6) and Jingtong (U5) passed the first round of the Concerto Competition Heats.
They will perform with the Symphony Orchestra in the Spring Concert taking place in March. There, an external adjudicator will award the winner.
There were nine girls competing this year. Each of them showed excellent musical skills and superb musicianship.
Mr James Penman, Head of Academic Music, said “The level of playing was outstanding and making a final decision extremely challenging.
“There was a notable demonstration of assured technical control, coupled with mature and imaginative interpretations that communicated the music superbly.”
