Creative Poppies for Maths

Year 5 have been learning about area and perimeter. After the act of remembrance we drew and coloured in poppies. Once they were complete the pupils were challenged to calculate the perimeter and estimate the area of their poppy. Using string the pupils carefully worked out the perimeters. The pupils were proud to create poppies that were in memory of those soldiers who have died in conflicts throughout the world.
