Creative Writing Workshops – National Poetry Day
Writers produced inspiring poems on the subject of choice on a day focusing on poetry.
As part of our celebrations for National Poetry Day on Thursday 7th October, the English Department was delighted to welcome poet and Headingtonian Tina Sederholm to the school.
Throughout the day, 64 keen writers from U3 to U6 were tasked with crafting poems on the theme of ‘Choice’, with original, often stunning results.
Not only did the young writers flex their creative muscles in crafting their poems, but – with Tina’s coaching – were encouraged to perform their creations to the group, an opportunity which many grasped with gusto.
Tina was full of praise for all participants’ enthusiasm, commenting that ‘It was the most enjoyable day I’ve ever had in a school’.
