CREST Science Awards
Three Headington girls have achieved prestigious Science awards.
Congratulations go to Darcy, Alina and Ayako who achieved Bronze and Silver CREST Awards. Projects this year included: ‘The effects of microwave radiation on different organisms’ and ‘Investigating Hydrogels – their possible use in water transport and storage.’
CREST is a nationwide initiative run by BSA (British Science Association) and recognises original, independent, scientific research, with a specific focus on experimental outcome. It provides opportunities for students interested in STEM subjects to work towards Bronze, Silver and Gold levels based on knowledge, understanding and experimental prowess.
Head of Science, Mr Jason Morris said: ”I’d like to say a big thank you to our Science Faculty technicians who have offered invaluable support throughout the process.”
