Explore Evening
Twenty-five girls from every year group of Headington School joined together for a fun evening coming together as a community to explore their faith.
On Friday 6th October 2023, the girls descended on a fantastic venue, just outside Oxford, to bond, relax and have fun together. All the girls are members of the Explore groups run in school. Explore is a forum where pupils and teachers explore the claims of Jesus and the place that Christianity might have in our lives.
Friday night’s activities included swimming, outdoor games and a competitive quiz (with prizes for those who can eat a strawberry lace the quickest, among other tasks).
It also included a short talk from a guest speaker and a prayer activity: the key reflection was taken from Psalm 27 ‘remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord… be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.’
The evening concluded with songs around the fire pit with Mrs Bowen’s ‘superb guitar’!
Alice (L6) said; “As a new pupil to the school, it was great to have the time to get to know others across all years of the School and also to learn more about Christianity through Psalm 27.
“It was a really fun time eating pizza, playing games and competing in a quiz – despite the fact that we lost every round!”
