Frieze Art Fair inspires
Headington’s Sixth Form Art students travelled to London to visit and be inspired by the Frieze Art Fair in Regent’s Park.
The girls begun their day walking through the park, enjoying the fresh air and scenery on their way to the Frieze sculpture garden, where half an hour was spent admiring the work on display. A particular favourite of the group was a beautiful, textured onyx disc by Emily Young, who has been called Britain’s greatest living stone sculptor.
Once the young artists entered the huge Frieze marquee there was a vast array of contemporary art work sourced from more than 160 galleries from 35 countries for the girls to see.
Imogen, U6 Art Scholar said: “It was amazing and very inspiring to see so many different styles and ideas of art from around the world. Some of the highlights included the work of Grayson Perry, Tracey Emin, Lucian Freud and most recent Turner prize winner Helen Marten. It was a great trip and it will be very helpful inspiring us for our upcoming projects.”
