Glitter Disco
Year 7 were recently treated to a fabulous Glitter Disco.
Shortly after school ended, the excitement was building up as we all started to get ready into our party clothes. Our eyes widened to take in all the glitter and sparkles.
It was loud; full of ecstatic chattering and joyful squeals! Shortly after we were ready, we filed into the dining room, the delicious aroma of lamb hitting us. Before us lay a feast; lamb on sticks perfectly cooked, amazing couscous filled with flavour and much more.
The cooks made an amazing meal suited perfectly for a party. The tables were laid gorgeously with pretty napkins and elegant glass water jugs.
Once we had eaten to our stomach’s content, we headed back to Diamond for the partying to start.
The Main Hall was incredible. Balloons filled the floor and rainbow lights lit the room up!
Music was playing, people were dancing, and it was, hands down, so much fun. There was a delicious sweet stall, and everybody (I mean everybody) crowded around to fulfil their need for sweets.
Not only that, but there was also an amazing nibbles table with all sorts of deliciousness; spring rolls, samosas, falafel and so much more.
Shortly afterwards, the karaoke began, and we were all singing, dancing, and having an awesome time.
We all stood on the stage and sang our hearts out (many thanks to Taylor Swift and Chapell Roan). In addition, there was also a fabulous photo booth- you could go with your friends and take some silly, fun photos in front of the sparkly strings that hung above us.
Furthermore, everyone couldn’t be more appreciative of Nena, our Year 7 Prefect. She tried so hard to make the Glitter Disco really fun, and her hard work paid off.
Also thanks to Scarlett our Social Prefect, without whom the party would never had been planned. Finally, we would like to say a HUGE thank you to the catering and cook team for all their lovely food and nibbles! THANK YOU!!
On behalf of Year 7, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to such a special evening. It will remain in our hearts as a lovely memory from Headington Rye 2024.
