Great Fire of London brought to life
Year 2 girls travelled back in time to a dramatic period in London’s history for a special day of enrichment.
On Monday 27th September 2021, Year 2 enjoyed a day of ‘Great Fire of London’ workshops from History off the Page.
The girls came to school dressed as Londoners from 1666 and spent the morning trying out different trades such as candle making and working in a bakery. In the afternoon, they became archaeologists and explored various clues to find out more about the past.
Everyone got involved and made the most of the opportunity to find out more about this interesting historical event.
Mrs Joanna Haynes, Year 2 teacher said: “It has been a fantastic day for the girls to understand better what times were like all those years ago. They have learnt so much and had great fun.”
