Headington Fencers at the Wenlock Olympiad

Two Headington fencers joined forces with a third athlete to compete in the Wenlock Olympiad.

The Wenlock Olympiad gave birth to the modern Olympic movement in the 1800s and was recognised in the 2012 games in London with one of the mascots being named ‘Wenlock’.

Ellie (L4) and Charlotte (U3), along with a third team member from another club took part in the Wenlock Mixed Foil relay competition.

The competition involved a challenging 45 hit relay with all three fencers working together. Ellie and Charlotte showed great stamina and skill, coming away with Wenlock Olympiad bronze medals. Well done to everyone involved.
