Higher Education Evening 2025
On Thursday 6th February, Headington Rye Oxford welcomed an impressive range of prestigious institutions for the annual Higher Education Evening.
Those taking part in the event included some of the most popular Russell Group and learning TEF institutions such as Warwick, Bath, King’s College London and Exeter.
Headington Rye Oxford’s highly-talented creative arts students were catered for with not only visits and specialist lectures on Art, Dance and Drama but also a special workshop for the Dance students.
The exceptionally gifted and engaged Year 12 Drama students (many of whom performed in this year’s winter production of The Great Gatsby) were privileged to have access to one of the country’s leading establishments (Central School of Speech and Drama).
Budding pilots were also able to learn in depth about career-guaranteed paths while students interested in exploring gap year options were glad to not only hear about working with young children but to witness and experience this first hand when our delegate brought her nine-month-old to attend (she was exceptionally good!).
The evening began with a lively and well attended carousel of stalls and was followed by informative and detailed subject-specific talks on a wide range of topics such as UCAS, Degree Apprenticeships, Applying for Medicine and Dentistry and how students can know themselves and their “brand” to help them with degree and career choices.
Academic Director of Sixth Form Mrs Alice Barrett said: “I look forward to following these students’ future successes beyond Headington Rye Oxford.
“A huge thanks to our delegates and the staff (especially catering and maintenance) and students who made this event possible.”
