MCS Model United Nations 2025

Members of Headington Rye Oxford’s Model United Nations club joined schools from across the region in the MUN Conference at the start of March, hosted at Magdalen College School.

The pupils worked really hard to represent Sudan, Israel and Egypt, as well as the prosecution team in the International Criminal Court.

History and Politics teacher Jo Forcer said: “Thanks to everyone involved in the organisation of the conference and to the pupils who researched, lobbied, amended and delivered resolutions focusing on issues such as emissions from artificial intelligence, the rights of Muslims in China, and the situation in Ukraine.”
A number of those taking part were recognised for their efforts.

The following pupils were awarded an ‘Outstanding Delegate’ award by their committee chairs:
● Quintina, Year 10, (Political 1 representing Israel)
● Victoria, Year 10, (Human Rights representing Egypt)
● Emily, Year 12, (Security Council representing Israel)
In addition, Claudia, Year 12, and Nia, Year 10, working together as a team of ICC Prosecutors, were awarded the ‘Best Delegate’ prize by their committee chairs.
