Moon Zoom

To begin their topic titled ‘Moon Zoom’, Year 1 enjoyed an amazing ‘memorable experience’ morning led by Science Oxford.

They travelled into space while sitting inside the planetarium and learnt about the planets, constellations, life on the International Space Station and when and why people `have landed on the moon.

Back in the classroom they learnt about the forces that shoot rockets into space.

They investigated this with small, medium and large milk bottles and tested all of them to see which ones produced the most force and sent the (paper) mice, highest into the sky.

The children are now looking forward to learning more about space and the history of space travel over the coming weeks.
