Music makers everywhere
This term has seen the return of our popular music clubs ranging from guitar to ukelele, strings to pop and jazz and the ever popular choirs. It has been wonderful to hear so many marvellous melodies throughout the Prep School day.
Girls have also been busy using their imaginations and using their composing skills in some fun-filled class projects. Year 5 have been mastering the waltz and creating their own versions inspired by the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional dances. The girls have loved being creative and using their imagination to compose music. Year 4 have been listening to ‘Carnival of the Animals’ by Saint Saens. They have designed their own animal and composed music for it, working collaboratively, using tuned and untuned percussions instruments. After half term we will input the music into iMovie and create a movie of the animal with their music as the soundtrack. It will be fantastic to see the finished masterpieces at the end of the Autumn Term.
