National Poetry Day
On Thursday 6th October, all things poetry came to the fore for a special celebration of National Poetry Day.
Alongside a poetry-themed Prayers, a Poet-tree display in the Library and the opportunity to contribute to a whole-school poem (more on this to come!), we welcomed poet Dan Simpson, who delivered creative writing workshops to groups of girls from across the School.
Over 80 pupils were involved in these workshops. All put pen to paper, composing poems which were sometimes playful, sometimes profound and always highly individual! The highlight of the day was the annual House Poetry Slam, a battle of wit and words which was enjoyed by all who attended.
