Phillip Jolley Ceramics Workshop

Girls experimented with new ceramics techniques to create their own pieces in a special workshop.

On Tuesday 8th March, as part of Headington’s Festival of Creativity, L5 GCSE Art pupils were treated to a ceramic slip decorating workshop with external specialist ceramicist Philip Jolley.

This was a totally new technique for the girls to experience. A great deal of fun was had by all experimenting with paper resists, slip tailing and sgraffito, among other applications.

The experimental ceramic pieces will form part of their GCSE coursework. Some may now wish to develop their ceramic skills further with the use of specialist ceramic equipment in the Hive.
