Piano Recitals
The Music Department has been particularly busy this year. On top of the numerous events, it offered three exceptional piano recitals to the Headington community. Vanessa (U5), Jingtong (U5) and Kelly (U4) gave three amazing 30-minute piano recitals as preparation for their ABRSM Piano Diploma.
The audience of staff and pupils were treated to wonderful renditions of well-known Piano masterpieces by Mozart, Debussy, Chopin, Gershwin and others.
The performers were warmly supported by their friends by clapping and wowing loudly.
It was incredible to see how Piano pupils were able to prepare for such a demanding music assessment while working on GCSE exams and other academic and sports commitments.
In turn, Britten and the Main Hall were filled with magical moments of suggestive music as well as powerful and virtuosic romantic songs, offering the listeners a great chance to break away from the routine and enter the world of arts.
Dr Rosella Rubini, Head of Piano, said: “It is impressive that a school is able to offer such events, in which people can not only support the girls but also enjoy music professionally played. We are so grateful to Vanessa, Jingtong and Kelly for their hard work, and for being happy to share their music with their friends and teachers.”
