“I’m really looking forward to this year and I hope it is a year full of memories which I will be able to look back on positively and make the most of this incredible opportunity.

“I’ve always been a people person and I’m looking forward to events where I get to meet lots of people, but also to finding more out about myself.”

She said: “I feel elated and so excited to work with everyone. I’m really proud of myself.”

Hattie also joined the School in Year 9, from the British School in Tokyo. She is studying A Levels in History, Politics, Spanish, Economics and the Extended Project Qualification and is an Academic and Oster Warriner Scholar.

She said: “I was very excited and very honoured to have the opportunity.

“The best part of the role will be to bring the prefect team together and bring their ideas to life.”

Prefects act as important representatives of and role models for the School at events such as open mornings and assessment days, with each also having specific responsibilities according to the position. The selection process is designed to mirror what girls might face in later life when applying for jobs.

Headmistress Mrs Caroline Jordan said: “I am so impressed with these inspirational young women.

“I feel very confident that they will be exceptional leaders of our student body, fantastic role models and wonderful ambassadors for the School.
