Prep Chamber Choir success
The Prep School’s chamber choir entered the U11’s choir class at the Oxford Music Festival which was held on Saturday 26th January at Cherwell School. Headington Prep School have been lucky enough to win this class for five consecutive years and this year was no exception. The choir was awarded a distinction for their superb performances of “We are the Future” by Dougle Coombes and “From a Railway Carriage”, by Nico Muhly. Mrs Evetts was thoroughly enjoyed conducting the girls to success once again.
The choir also enjoyed performing to the Senior School the following week during their assembly. One pupil commented that “It was a little nerve-wracking singing in front of so many people but then they all clapped loudly so we really enjoyed it and felt very proud of our performance.”
Mrs Evetts was delighted with the efforts of all the girls and looks forward to the upcoming GSA choir competition. She said, “It has been great fun rehearsing with the girls over the last few weeks. They have improved so much and it is a joy to see their musical progression.”
On 9th February, Mrs Evetts also received the exciting news that the choir also won the Edmund Rubbra Cup for the second year running. What a fantastic way to start the half term!
