Radley Athletics Meeting
Headington had a very exciting afternoon at the Radley Athletics Meeting on Tuesday 21st May. We had the honour of being the only girls school at the event and the girls certainly rose to the challenge breaking three records on the day! Bethan broke the long jump record to a new amazing distance of 4.10 metres. The old record had stood since 2009! In the 1500 metres Izzie knocked ten seconds off the old record (held by her sister, Emily) to a new time of 5 minutes 18.8 seconds. In the 100m sprints Chrissy set her third record of the term in a new time of 15.3 seconds. Nearly all the girls gained personal bests in their events and it is great preparation for the Year 6 girls who will go on to represent the Prep school at the Regional Mercia Athletics in June.
