Show Jumpers impress
Headington’s Equestrian Team took third position in a prestigious show jumping competition.
The Headington Equestrian Team competed in the 90cm and 1m NSEA (National Schools Equestrian Association) Show Jumping competition held at Berkshire College of Agriculture in Burchett’s Green near Maidenhead on Sunday 16th January. The team was aiming to qualify for the finals at Windsor Horse show.
The team all rode excellent double clear rounds in the 90cm out of a field of 60 competitors and secured team bronze, with Alice placed fifth individually. Sadly, the team missed out on qualification to the finals in Windsor by one place.
They all rode again in a strong 1m class with 35 competitors and again rode well with three double clears to secure a team bronze while Alice secured a second fifth place rosette individually. Again, the girls just missed out on a qualifying place for Windsor.
The girls showed great team work, walking the course together and supporting each other through the competition.
The team comprised of:
Lily (L6)
Scarlett (U4)
Matilde (U4)
Alice (L5)
