Showjumper competes on international stage
Gifted showjumper Megan, U5, has again competed at an international level as part of the GB team.
Megan travelled with the GB pony team, known as Team LeMieux, to Belgium in September for the Nations Cups Finals. After four rounds, the team was joint first alongside Germany and Holland on zero faults.
The final competition took place in challenging weather conditions including heavy rain. The first three GB riders, including Megan on her pony Harry, again jumped clear around the 1.30m course and put enormous pressure on the German team, the Dutch having fallen behind by that point. One German time fault followed by another German rider with one fence down gave GB the gold without the need for the fourth rider to jump the course. In the end GB won on a perfect score of zero over the two days of jumping while Germany claimed silver with five faults, leaving Ireland in bronze with six. Megan will also be competing in the 148cm class in the Horse of the Year Show this month.
Well done to Megan and good luck!
