String concert at Senior School
On Thursday 29th Feb our Prep School string players were invited to perform at the Senior School in their Celebration of Strings Concert.
The Harp ensemble opened the concert, with a lovely performance of Triptic Dance by P. Beauchant (arranged by C. Salzedo). Hayley S, who was recently awarded a music scholarship at Headington Senior School, then played ‘Allegro’ from Concerto Grosso in D minor by Vivaldi with her sister Kayley to a delighted audience. Audrey C also performed a brilliant solo of Cafe Classique by J. Johow, accompanied by Mr Woodcock.
The second half of the concert was opened by Serenada strings who gave a wonderful rendition of German Dances by L. van Beethoven. The concert was thoroughly enjoyable and it was a wonderful opportunity for the Prep School girls to showcase their high levels of performance.
