Superhero day
To kickstart their topic, Year 1 were invited to dress as their version of a superhero and enjoyed a fun-filled activity day along this theme.
They discussed ‘superhero’ values and skills, drew and painted their character and even completed a ‘mission impossible’ obstacle course in their PE lesson.
Each pupil shared their home learning about a chosen ‘real life’ superhero.
There were presentations about family members or friends who are doctors, explorers and even fought political injustice in Sri Lanka!
Other videos interviewed a lifeguard, an optometrist and a surgeon.
Finally, some pupils learnt about historical heroes such as Florence Nightingale, Trudie Ederle (the first woman to swim the English Channel) and Anousheh Ansari (the first Muslim woman astronaut).
Each of us has super powers and we will learn how to harness them for good!!
